Producer
The Producer reports directly to the Creative Director and is responsible for overseeing the Media Production and 3D Production pipeline. This includes supervising projects related to animation, video production, interviews, and other media content used for marketing, partnerships, and brand storytelling.
Some projects you will oversee include:
- SMASH! promotional videos
- Animated video content
- Manage interview schedules with the Guests department
The Producer plays a key leadership role throughout all phases of production: pre-production, production, and post-production, ensuring projects progress smoothly and teams remain aligned. This role requires someone who can take initiative, lead creative direction for media projects, and resolve production challenges when they arise.
The Producer will also work closely with the CG Supervisor and Media Production Supervisor and collaborate with Marketing, Sales & Partnerships, and other departments to ensure media content effectively supports SMASH!'s promotional and brand objectives.
As a Producer your duties include but not limited to:
- Overseeing concept ideation, scripting and ensuring final quality
- Talent scouting
- Budget management
- Leading and directing staff
- Project planning and supervising the process
- Overseeing media editing, effects and soundtrack
- Liaise with Marketing and Sales and Partnership to handle marketing and publicity video content.
- Projects meeting their timelines
- Establishing and upholding a regular schedule with the team
- Disseminating essential information to the team and managing any schedule changes
Skills & Knowledge, Experiences, Qualifications
- Strong understanding of video production and editing workflows.
- Working knowledge of 3D animation production pipelines.
- Experience with video editing software (e.g. Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve or similar).
- Excellent project management and time management skills.
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
- Ability to identify and resolve production challenges or workflow blockers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Contactable regularly online and by phone.
- Available to attend meetings, workshops, and activities as required.
- Available during SMASH! convention days in Sydney, Australia.
Desirable
- Experience producing video, animation, or digital media projects
- Experience working with creative or media production teams
- Previous volunteer or customer service experience
- Passion for anime, manga, and Japanese pop culture
