Assistant Website Content Editor
The Website & App Content Editor is to support and maintain all publicly visible content on the official SMASH! website. This includes ensuring all content copies are error-free, grammatically correct and up-to-date, selecting suitable photos/images, and working with the Programming, Creative and IT teams to keep the website easy to navigate for the fans. You will also ensure all content copies are smoothly transferred onto our SMASH! App in collaboration with the Website Editor to ensure all information is relevant.
Please note: this is not an IT role! You will not be asked to code for the website, only to control the words and images that will appear on the website.
The Website Content Editor Assistant will be required to, but not limited to:
- Assist in maintaining and updating the content copies and images for the core SMASH! website
- Proofread the copy and ensure the editorials are grammatically correct and spelling error-free, before sending it to the IT team
- Work closely with the IT & Creative team to keep the website up to date in both style and structure
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders i.e. SMASH! Programming and Production department to ensure website content is delivered with accurate and up-to-date information and details
- Work closely with relevant SMASH! Teams to ensure a unified message across all platforms is communicated
- Write, maintain and update copy for SMASH! related pages in line with the SMASH! brand and appropriate to the yearly theme
- Escalate critical problems to Campaign Manager or Marketing Director where necessary
Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Contactable regularly online via email and Slack, and over the phone
- Strong communication skills in English
- Attend meetings, workshops and activities as required
- Available for convention day(s) in Sydney, Australia
- Strong time-management skills, teamwork skills, creativity and copywriting skills
- Attention to detail and copywriting skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Familiarity with anime, manga, and cosplay culture, including current and upcoming trends
- Knowledge or experience in marketing campaigns and implementation
Desirable Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Experience in content creation, copywriting, and UX/UI knowledge and skills
- Previous volunteer or customer service experience
- Entry-level knowledge of graphic design software i.e, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, commerce, public relations or similar
- Demonstrated ability to ideate and execute editorial campaigns or content creation
