Cosplay Policy

As SMASH! is a family-friendly event, the exposure guideline was designed to fit each person's unique body shape, not just one type. SMASH! as both an organisation and a community are advocates for inclusivity, ensuring that all races, cultures, genders, sexualities, and religions are respected.

As a standard; we ask that both attendees and those arriving in cosplay - are to avoid wearing overly revealing or offensive costumes. Examples such as: attire less than a standard swimsuit, offensive slogans, hateful symbols, or displaying any explicit NSFW images.

  • Nudity or adult-themed costumes or props will NOT be permitted. This includes, but is not limited to, public exposure or outline of genitalia, buttocks, or indecent public exposure of breasts.
  • Masks or face coverings that conceal facial features and cannot be removed on request are NOT permitted.
  • Appropriate footwear is required at all times. The soles of your feet must always be covered.

To keep your cosplay secure and prevent any accidental exposure, we suggest using safety pins, double-sided tape, and/or safety shorts.

Please be advised that a SMASH! staff member may ask you to cover up, remove any offending clothing or to vacate the premises if necessary.

SMASH! 2024 has cosplay repair services made available this year. For more information visit our Cosplay section on the day.

Disclaimer: All props, costumes, and attachments are subject to the SMASH! Props Policy.
