Special Preliminary Judge
This year, we are introducing a special judge to judge our preliminary round and perform at SMASH! during the judging time of the Karaoke competition Final Round!
The Song of the Galaxy reincarnates here to touch your heart with her music! From wrestling dinosaurs to scuffed meme streams, Nana Asteria has illuminated the internet with her indomitable idol spirit since her debut in 2022. As an indie Vtuber and former adopted talent under Sony Music Entertainment Japan's PRISM Project, Nana has an extensive career making waves in both spheres.
When she isn't being technologically PON, giving bombastic Asian Aunty advice, or writing diss tracks, she is known for her powerful emotional voice in her beautifully crafted covers and original music. Beyond her musical endeavours, Nana engages her community through interactive streams on platforms like YouTube and Twitch, where she has singing, gaming and iconic just chatting advice streams. Her unique blend of talents, down-to-earth personality and genuine connection with her audience makes her a diamond in the rough from the land down under.

Final Round Judges
Joining us to judge the final round of the Karaoke Competition at SMASH! 2025, Raina Illune is a vocalist who has been singing covers online since 2015. While she usually works as a motion designer for other people's vocal covers & originals (e.g. Hololive), she also had vocal training in choir and musical theatre for 14 years and has supplied critiques in vocals, use of audio equipment, and general stage presence.

Joining us for our Karaoke Competition, Vedra, alongside Raina will be judging the final competitors at SMASH! 2025. He is a music producer, composer, songwriter, singer and mixer with a passion for helping people fill the world with their own musical voice. Some of his clients include Will Stetson, Hoyoverse, Phase Connect and other companies, VTubers and online creators.

Competition Format
The SMASH! 2025 Karaoke Competition will be split into two rounds.
- The Preliminary Round
- This round will be held pre-convention (online), before SMASH! weekend.
- There will be 10 contestants who will be chosen by our esteemed guest judges based on their online submissions.
- SMASH! Weekend Round
- This round will be held during SMASH! Weekend.
- The contestants will receive a free Weekend SMASH! Ticket and will perform on stage at SMASH! weekend. Those under 13 will also be supplied an additional-pass for their accompanying guardian. Please see the included FAQ below for more details.

Who Can Participate
This competition is for everyone of all ages!
Those under 13 will also be supplied an additional weekend pass for their accompanying guardian. Please see the our FAQ below for more details.
- Each applicant may only submit one entry.
- SMASH! Staff and Crew are allowed to enter their works in any SMASH!’s competitions; however, under no circumstances will special consideration be given to any entrant during the judging and selection process.
- This is a solo competition

1st February 12:00 PM ~ 20th April 11:59 PM
SMASH! Weekend Round
12th July ~ 13th July
Prizes
- All contestants who passed the preliminary round will receive a Weekend SMASH! Ticket!
Submission Requirements
All entries must be uploaded via the submission form.
- Create and record a new video of yourself singing one song that aligns with the theme.
- The piece must conform to the maximum duration of 10 minutes. Songs over this time limit will be cut to 10 minutes.
- You must provide a short written explanation of why the song evokes the feeling of camping in a fantasy world. If no explanation is provided, the submission will not be considered.
- Please ensure that your video footage has been recorded clearly.
- Preferred submission formats are through a link via YouTube (unlisted) or Google Drive as an mp4.
- Please name the file with your ‘Full_Name_SongTitle’ if the submission is through Google Drive.

The Preliminary round result was announced on 21st May!
