SMASH! Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Grand Prix - Supported by Five Star Games
Start your engines for a new Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds tournament at SMASH! 2026! Battle it out with fellow racers until 8 remain for the final race. Showcase your gadget mastery, unleash your items, and prove you have what it takes to claim victory and become the champion!
Who Can Participate
- Anyone who has a ticket to enter SMASH! 2026 (Weekend, Sunday, Exhibitors or Media)
- SMASH! Staff and Crew are not allowed to enter
- You must be above the age of 12 years old, no exceptions
- Games and Controllers will be provided; consoles can be provided but are limited. We recommend you bring your Switch console.
Register Online
Registrations will be open online at 12:00 PM, Monday 29th June, 2026 until all 32 participant slots are full or until 12:00 AM, Monday 6th July, 2026. If you have been successfully registered, you will be notified by email with your match starting time one week before the convention.
You must check in at least 15 minutes on the day before your allotted time at the Gaming area!

If online registration is not full by the cut-off date, we will accept registration on the day (Sunday only).
Schedule
- 10:30 AM - Elimination Match (Group A)
- 10:55 AM - Elimination Match (Group B)
- Top 8 of Group A & B will become Group E
- 11:20 AM - Elimination Match (Group C)
- 11:45 AM - Elimination Match (Group D)
- Top 8 of Group C & D will become Group F
- 12:10 PM - Elimination Match (Group E)
- 12:35 PM - Elimination Match (Group F)
- Top 8 of Group E & F will proceed to Final Grand Prix
- 1:00 PM - Final Grand Prix
Grand Finals @ the Gaming Stage 1.00pm - 1.45pm on Sunday!
Format
Elimination Rounds
In the first Elimination Round, racers will compete for the highest score in 4 races. The top 4 scorers of each match will advance through to the next round.
In the second Elimination Round, racers will compete for the highest score in 4 races. The top 4 scorers of each match move on to the Final Grand Prix.
Final Grand Prix
In the Final Grand Prix, racers will compete for the highest score in 8 races. The top 3 scorers will win a place on the podium!
Sudden Death
In the case where during:
- Elimination Round ~ There is a Draw on 4th place, a single Sudden Death Race will occur.
- Final Grand Prix ~ There is a Draw on any podium spots, a single Sudden Death Race will occur.
Prizes
Top three players will receive a Sonic franchise plush and a copy of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on Nintendo Switch 2. This version is backwards compatible with Nintendo Switch as well
