
Guilty Gear Strive Tournament
An old classic with a new face. Do we need any more explanation? Strive to become the absolute supreme winner in knuckle whitening battles where every punch, kick and combo will determine your fate. Will you fall at the hands of a stronger competitor or display unbeatable skills to prove yourself the best of the beat ‘em ups?
Who Can Participate
- This competition is open to everyone attending SMASH! 2025
- SMASH! Staff and Crew are not allowed to enter
How to Participate
- You can register from 10:00 AM onwards each morning at the OzHadou Arena! A new tournament will run each day! Registrations will remain open up to 15 mins before the tournament start time, unless maximum participants (32) are reached prior. There is no online registration for this event, any participants after the 32 max cap will be put in reserve.
- Arrive for your allocated round at the OzHadou Arena before the Tournament starts so you don’t miss out!
- Make your way through the rounds, and stay within the Arena area if you advance to the next match. You will be instructed by OzHadou staff on where to go if you progress to the finals. Note that the Gaming Stage will host some but not all final rounds of OzHadou tournaments.
Remember, anyone registered that is not present when the tournament is scheduled to start will have their place filled by those on the wait-list that are present, on a first-come-first-served basis.

General Rules
- Default match settings will be used
- Winner of previous game must keep the same character
- Loser of previous game may switch their character
- Winners will be determined by:
- Elimination - Best-of-3 games (Best of 3)
- Finals - Best-of-7 games (Best of 7)
- Tournaments are a single elimination bracket format, capped at 32 seeds
- Controllers will be provided, but players may bring their own PS4 or PS5 compatible controllers (Hardware-level turbo and macros are not allowed. Controllers must have SOCD cleaning)
- Players can only enter one tournament per game over the entire weekend at the OzHadou Arena during SMASH! This means you can only participate in one Guilty Gear, one Street Fighter, and one Tekken tournament
- Players must be present at the start of the tournament rounds otherwise their position will be filled by those on the wait-list on a first-come-first-served basis
- System running the competition will be a PS4 and PS5 running the PS4 version of Guilty Gear Strive
- Any decisions made by the judges are final and will not be subjected to dispute
