Who Can Participate
- This competition is open to everyone in Australia and internationally.
- You do not need to attend SMASH! 2024 to enter the competition. However, it is recommended that you come on Day 2 (21st July 2024) for the announcement of winners in case you have won an award.
- SMASH! Staff and Crew are not allowed to enter.

Competition Rules
- Before submission, please ensure your island is easily accessible to the judges of SMASH! and the general public.
- Only one island entry per person is allowed.
- While you have creative freedom in the decoration and design of your island, please keep in mind that this event is PG (i.e. do NOT create anything that is or has the potential to be politically sensitive, cause harm and/or offense to an individual or groups of people). Entries of such nature will result in disqualification. As such, please ensure your submission adheres to the following conditions:
- Entries must not be discriminatory against mental, physical, or economical disadvantages.
- Depictions of nudity, erotic content, or abuse are strictly prohibited.
- Entries must not contain socially offensive content, ie. must not disrespect anyone's freedom of religion, beliefs, occupation, etc.
- The entry must not depict any form of drugs or alcohol.
- Entries must fit the contest purpose.
- Entries submitted previous years will not be accepted for this year’s competition.
- Any decisions made by the judges are final and will not be subjected to dispute.
Competition Schedule
Submission Period
Sunday 16th of June 2024, 10:00 AM ~ Monday 15th of July 2024, 11:00 PM AEST
Islands will then be showcased and presented online, at the same time People's Choice Award voting will commence.
People’s Choice Voting Period
Thursday 18th of July 2024, 7:00 PM ~ Saturday 20th of July 2024, 11:00 PM AEST
Dream codes will be released to the public for voting during this period.
Winners will be announced on the Gaming Stage @ SMASH! on Day 2, Sunday, 21st of July 2024.
Prizes
There will be four awards to win and they are as follows:
Best Island Overall
Given to the Best looking and creative island amongst all in the competition chosen by the judge!
Best Island Runner-up
2nd best looking and creative island chosen by the judge!
People's Choice
Voted by the people! Who will reign supreme as chosen by the masses?
People's Choice Runner-up
2nd placed Island chosen by the people!
