2D Art Competition

Welcome back for another unforgettable weekend at the ICC for SMASH! 2025!
The 2D Art Competition returns once again! This year, we invite you to step beyond the boundaries of reality and into a world where campfires shimmer with mystical energy. Where stories whispered beneath the stars weave fate itself, and where every tent flap conceals an adventure waiting to unfold.
Journey deep into enchanted forests, ascend towering peaks guarded by dragons, or rest beneath a celestial sky where magic hums in the air. Whether it’s a quiet moment before an epic quest or the eerie glow of something lurking just beyond the firelight, capture the wonder of fantastical camping in breathtaking two-dimensional artistry!
Sharpen your tools, unleash your imagination, and don’t forget to save often! It’s time to transport us to worlds unknown in the SMASH! 2025 2D Art Competition!
Who can participate
- This competition is for everyone of all ages!
- An entry can be worked on by a group. However, distribution of the prizes will be split amongst the group.
- SMASH! Staff and Crew are allowed to enter their works in any of the Art competitions; however, under no circumstances will special consideration be given to any entrant during the judging and selection process.
Submission period
- 9am 31 March - 11pm 1st June
General rules
- Pieces must all be original content. Any submissions that are recognised as: fanart or depict existing characters, people, brands, or products will not be accepted.
- Submissions CANNOT be AI GENERATED.
- Please do not submit or monetise works that you have submitted to other contests that are occurring simultaneously. However, entrants are free to submit to other competitions after the announcement of our results.
- Once submitted, no further changes can be made to the entry.
- Entries will be viewed by a large and diverse audience of all ages with different nationalities, cultures, religions, etc. As such, please ensure your submission adheres to the following conditions:
- Entries must not be discriminatory against any mental, physical, or economical disadvantages.
- Depictions of child prostitution, nudity, erotic content or abuse are strictly prohibited.
- The entry must not contain socially offensive content, ie. it must not disrespect anyone’s freedom of religion, beliefs, occupation, privacy, etc.
- The entry must not depict any form of drugs or alcohol.
- Entries must fit the contest purpose.
Submission details
Although entries must be submitted via the form to qualify, artists are welcome to bring in a physical copy of their artwork during the SMASH! event days to the Art Info Booth for display.
Artists MUST collect their artwork by no later than 5pm on Sunday 13 July 2025. Unless awarded a prize, we will not post artwork back to artists.
If the artwork needs to be posted back to the artist, postage must be paid for by the artist.
Specifications
- Please ensure that your artwork has been saved, photographed or scanned clearly.
- Please name the file with your ‘ArtistName_ArtworkTitle’.
- File size should not exceed 5MB.
- Preferred file formats are .JPG, .PNG or .PDF.

Remember, winners will be announced at the Arts Stage on Sunday, so please make sure you come see and celebrate all the creative people who have fought against time to finish their pieces!
