Karaoke Room

The much beloved SMASH! Karaoke Room is back in 2025! Sing along or sing your heart out to all your favourite songs. Whether it’s your favourite song from anime, J-pop, K-pop or Western, everything is welcomed! Go and belt out the classics, the mainstream openings and endings, or even that one song you love but no one else knows about; this is your chance to get up on stage by yourself or with a friend and show us what you're made of!

And the best part? It’s completely free!

Themed hours!

On each day of SMASH!, there will be allocated hours each day dedicated to our mini themes of ‘Vocaloid’ and ‘Throwback Shoujo/Shounen’ where the only songs you will be allowed to sing during these hours have to be from the allocated theme. For the ‘Throwback Shoujo/Shounen’ sessions, songs must be from 1990-2015. If you sing a song during these hours you can be in the running to win free prizes from our lucky draw!

Saturday (Vocaloid): 12-1pm & 4-5pm

Sunday (Throwback Shoujo/Shounen): 1-2pm & 4-5pm

Let us ear your favourite artist! (new)

We will have a space for you to write down your favourite artiste! Whether it be J-pop, Vocaloid producers, Utaites or Virtual Singers. Come and share your favourites and you might meet your fellow fans!

Features!

  • Lyrics will have Romaji so don’t fret if you can’t read Japanese!
  • Got a case of stage fright? Don’t worry! We have a curtain for you to sing behind or, if you prefer, masks that you can wear on stage.

Karaoke Room Rules

  • Each slot will be allocated 5 minutes of singing time
  • There will be 10-12 slots per hour
  • You are allowed to sing a duet with a friend!
  • No photography is allowed without expressed permission.
  • Be supportive and encouraging!

Venue Rules

  • No loiteringat the entrance but, feel free to come in and watch!
  • No eating in the room but water is permitted.

Operational Rules

  • Each session will operate for 1 hour.
  • Please come to the Karaoke Room on the day to sign up.
  • Sign up for the next session is open 1 hour prior to the session start time. If there’s an empty slot during an ongoing session, you can sign up for that slot.
    • Example: If you want to sing at 2pm - 3pm session, you can sign up from 1pm.
  • For the first hour of the convention, you can sign up and sing immediately.
  • You are allowed to sign up for up to 2 slots (10 minutes = 2 songs) in an hour. If you want to sing more, please sign up for the next available session.
  • Attendees MUST arrive 15 minutes before their allocated time slot otherwise their spot will be forfeited.
