Trivia Assistant

As a Trivia Assistant, you will be responsible for creating Trivia events, as well as content and presentations. You will assist the Head of Trivia and Trivia Coordinators to implement, manage and host Trivia events. A Trivia Assistant is expected to work with all Trivia staff (as well as SMASH! staff in other departments) to ensure an amazing SMASH! event.

Essential Skills & Knowledge, Experiences, Qualifications

  • Contactable on a regular basis online and over the phone
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attend meetings, workshops and activities as required
  • Available for convention days in Sydney, Australia
  • Interest in Japanese pop culture such as anime, manga, games and/or music
  • Access to and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (i.e. PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and Google Workspace products (i.e. Slides, Sheets, Docs)
  • Time management skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and follow the directions from the Head of Trivia, Trivia Coordinators and management

Desirable Skills & Knowledge, Experiences, Qualifications

  • Previous volunteer or customer service experience
  • Experience in running small-scale events
  • Experience supervising people/teams
  • Proficiency with and access to editing software (e.g. photo editing such as GIMP, audio editing such as Audacity, and video editing such as DaVinci Resolve/iMovie).
