SMASH! The Sydney Manga and Anime Show is a one day celebration of Japanese animation and comic culture, held at the Roundhouse@UNSW on the 2nd of August. Anime conventions allows fans to meet and interact with other like minded people, show off their own creative talents, buy anime and manga related goods and celebrate their fandom in a social environment.
Simply put, an anime con is a place for anime fans to gather and have fun. Join us at SMASH! and experience this unique slice of culture for yourself!

Special Guest - Hidenobu Kiuchi - Seiyuu Events
Hidenobu Kiuchi is a talented seiyuu who is well known for his role as Oshitari Yuushi from Prince of Tennis, and more recently, Ryohei Sasagawa from Katekyo Hitman Reborn.
At Kiuchi's request, there will be NO filming, recording or flash photography during ANY of his events. Please respect his wishes and refrain from doing so. If you are caught doing so, you will be escorted out of the venue for the duration of his event. If you distribute any video and/or audio recordings from this event (e.g. put it on Youtube or any share sites) you may be held liable for any legal damages that you cause.

Don't miss out on Australia's first visit from a Japanese seiyuu. During this special feature there will be an interview, then Kiuchi will conduct a how-to-voice act panel, followed by an afureko (live dubbing) session of one of his roles.

To be fair to all his fans, autographs will be limited to one (1) item per person.
Items of a personal nature will be screened and not permitted if deemed inappropriate. If you wish to have Kiuchi sign any merchandise, please note that only legitimate, licensed merchandise will be permitted.
MINI GAMES WITH KIUCHI
Time: 6pm | Place: Mini-Stage
Spend some time with other fans at this casual Q & A session with Kiuchi.
Participate in some of the mini-games, like trivia and the penalty game, for the chance to win some limited edition prizes.

After the huge success of last year, SMASH! is expanding with more events, more guests, more time and even more room! We will be open for longer this year, closing at 8pm with a full schedule of events for you to enjoy right up until closing time. We've also acquired room on the first floor of the Squarehouse right next to our main venue, the Roundhouse.

SMASH! Charity Artbook Auction
Over the course of many months, a little book has been on a long journey. From artist to artist it has travelled, its pages filling up with a multitude of wondrous artworks. Soon, it will return once more for the final leg of its journey. What shelf or gallery will be its final resting place? Who will lay the final hand on this unique collection of artworks?
Dig out your change, break open those piggy banks, buy that anime box-set another day! This is your chance to own a truly one of a kind artbook, while also supporting a worthy cause.
The SMASH! Travelling Artbook Charity Auction is an event not to be missed! All proceeds of this event will go to the Fred Hollows foundation. The book will be auctioned on the Main Stage during SMASH!

GenConOz, the best 4 days of gaming on this weekend!
To be held for the very first time, GenCon is a massive expo in Brisbane dedicated to fans of gaming and popular culture. With loads of events, panels, workshops and guests, this is a weekend not to be missed!With an all-star lineup of guests:

Supanova, Sydney's premier pop-culture event is on this weekend!

Last but not least, SMASH! also needs Volunteers! If you are interested in a behind-the-scenes view of an anime convention, why not be a SMASH! Volunteer? You'll meet lots of new people with similar interest and gain experience that can help you in the workforce. No previous experience necessary!
